Rolling Thunder by MikeTehFox Rolling Thunder by MikeTehFox
This build was inspired by the Armored Core V Trailer.

It doesn't have much in the way of functions, the tracks have some limited suspension, the torso twists and the Shoulder mounted Missile Pods have opening flaps.....and thats about it! xD

You can view Additional Pics on my Flickr Account Here and Here.

I'm also planning a larger version of this(2.5X larger or about 20-ish inches front to back) that will have motors and functioning suspension, you can view the Prototype in action HERE and sneak a peek at the final design for the Inner Frame HERE.

Not as much as you might think, It was mostly based off the Tank Frame from the Armored Core V Trailer, so the point where it has the same number of bogey wheels if I remember correctly.

Maybe as you said. But for me, creating something based on some reference, using parts that have no any similarity in appearance is not easy. :D

wow, awesome, how long did it take you to do this?

A bunch of time doing the design digitally, a bunch of time ordering the parts, a long time waiting on parts, a bit of time sorting the parts when I get them then slightly longer to finally build it.

how many kits did you need to build this?

It's not about any specific kits in any specific number, just having enough of the right parts in general.

Between 09 and 11 I worked for the company called NetDevil in Colorado where we made LegoUniverse MMO and that is the place where i saw the crazies designs out of lego u can imagine... The guy whose job was to model in real life what we modeled in game, had about 8 feet long replica of death star exhaust port from star wars with all the ships flying in.

This is proof that there needs to be Armored Core Lego sets. I mean, come on. They sell action figures. Why not Lego sets? xP

I lkove all of the guns, but what's the point of the binoculars on the upper guns?

I'm confused as to what you mean by 'upper guns', there is only the Quad AutoCannons(1 per arm) and the Missile Pods(1 per Shoulder).

The binoculars next to the missile pods, they're pointing backwards, so are they supposed to be rear weaponry?

Dang, u sure make some awesome incredible Lego's I should say. But I was wondering, how long did this take u 2 build it anyway?

Tough to say, the actual building of it wasn't all that long, but that's because I design them digitally first then get the parts I need, off the top of my head including all aspects somewhere between 5-10 hours, but this would take place over a period of months as time and money allow.

Wow thats a long time! 5 to 10 hrs, heck, thats like almost kinda like about a part time job there but hey, its worth it if ure bored or something like if u wanna built something and using ure time 4 that u know. :) But yea, I c that u'll defiantly need the $ to pay off some parts 4 building a lot of Lego's like what u did. But also, where do u buy like ure Lego parts at? Lego.com, or what or website that sells Lego's? I mean, I haven't had a Lego in so many yrs and also haven't been looking around about Lego's and so 4th of them in a very long time. So what website or websites do u buy the Lego parts at anyway?
