Description
With the Introduction of the Mammoth GHL Execs were pleased with reduction of collisions at ports….until they learned of all the customer complaints when their temperature sensitive cargo was damaged, apparently from poorly placed maneuvering thrusters.
The Engineering team for the Mammoth was promptly let go. Due to the large investment in the Mammoth design it was decided to bring in a new team to fix and improve the Mammoth into something that would actually be able to properly deliver cargo.
What originally started out as a project to fix select issues with the original Mammoth quickly grew into a major redesign, the Hull is reinforced, Sensor Suit is vastly improved, Primary bridge was elevated, new cargo brackets and of course, properly positioned maneuvering thrusters. IT took much longer and cost much more than projected but the new engineering team was actually competent and so the project was completed and performed as it was designed to.
The Mammoth MkII featured improvements in everywhere, the Primary and Secondary Bridges were streamlined, the sensors were vastly improved, reinforced Stabilizers for the Maneuvering pods. There are even rumors of concealed missile launchers to…..discourage…..pirates and other unsavory types.
Nice concept of attaching the cargo. In addition, the thruster nodes add a ton of realism to the design!
